Marija is a Canadian artist and educator specializing in set and costume design for live events.
She has designed sets and costumes for many renowned ballet and theatre companies across North America, most notably Les Grands Ballets Canadiens (Montreal), Complexions (NYC), Ballet West (Salt Lake City), Cedar Lake Ballet (NYC), Kennedy Center (D.C.), Juilliard (NYC) etc. With over 70 productions to her name, Marija is one of the most active designers of her generation.
Marija’s work has been shown at numerous exhibitions around the world and she has helped curate Canadian entries for two major international exhibitions showcasing the design at the turn of the 20th century.
Marija is also heavily involved with training the new generation of designers through mentoring students at prestigious Canadian and international performing arts schools.
