Marija is a Canadian artist and educator specializing in set and costume design for live events.
She has designed sets and costumes for many renowned theatre and ballet companies across North America and Europe, most notably Les Grands Ballets Canadiens (Montreal), Juilliard (NYC), NDT2 (Netherlands), Bayerische Staatsballett (Germany), Complexions (NYC), Ballet West (Salt Lake City), Cedar Lake Ballet (NYC), Kennedy Center (D.C.), Repercussion Theatre (Montreal), Geordie Productions (Montreal), Le Nouveau Theatre Experimental (Montreal), BTF (Massachusetts), etc.
With over 70 productions to her name, Marija is one of the most active designers of her generation.
Marija’s work has been shown at numerous exhibitions around the world and she has helped curate Canadian entries for two major international exhibitions showcasing the design at the turn of the 20th century.
Marija is also heavily involved with training the new generation of designers through mentoring students at prestigious Canadian and international performing arts schools.
